Mindflow is proud to be the chosen charity partner of the North West Construction Health & Safety Group (NWCHSG), who have raised £3,500 to support our work tackling the mental health crisis in construction.
The funds were raised at NWCHSG’s flagship health and safety event, held this week in the iconic St George’s Hall, Liverpool — and built around a powerful, real-life mock court case designed to highlight the life-or-death stakes of getting safety right on site.
The courtroom experience was delivered by practicing barristers, HSE and court officials, and focused on a service strike fatality. Over 150 construction professionals attended — hearing first-hand how safety failings don’t just lead to prosecutions, but have lasting mental health impacts on everyone involved.
Trevor Steven, CEO of Mindflow, said:
“This is such an innovative way to bring the spotlight onto health and safety in the industry. It aligns so well with our vision — we are working towards mental health being viewed as important as physical safety on site, and there’s a real correlation between the two. We are so grateful to have the backing and support of NWCHSG, helping us to reach more people across the industry who may be struggling with their mental health. These funds will make a huge difference to our charity.”
NWCHSG has recently rebranded to put health alongside safety — a move that reflects the growing recognition that physical risks aren’t the only ones workers face.
Kenny Humphreys, Head of Health & Safety at Domis Construction, said:
“Our mock trial, based on a service strike fatality, highlighted what can happen when things go wrong and showcased the importance of best practice across the industry. The victim impact statements used on the day brought home the wider mental health toll on everyone involved. Supporting Mindflow raised vital funds and reinforced the importance of mental health and wellbeing on every site. A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible!”
Next steps
The funds raised will directly support Mindflow’s on-site outreach — including Match-Ups, our football-led sessions that open up honest conversations where they’re needed most.
We’re grateful to NWCHSG for standing with us — and for helping drive the shift from silence to support.
