This World Suicide Prevention Day, let’s have each other’s backs — on and off site.

Construction is a team sport. So is football. And so is life.

But when it comes to mental health, too many workers are left on their own. Every working day, two construction workers die by suicide. That’s not just a stat — it’s a crisis.

At Mindflow, we’re here to change that. We believe mental health should be treated with the same urgency as physical safety. And we’re doing it by bringing the team spirit of football directly to construction sites — where the conversation really needs to start.

## Bringing mental health support to the heart of construction sites

67% of construction workers are football fans.

That’s why we use the game they already love to break the silence.

The Mindflow Talk Football Talk Mental Health programme brings former professional footballers into the heart of the industry — to start conversations that could save lives. They share stories, listen, and help open up real conversations between teammates who might otherwise keep it bottled up. Because on some days, it only takes a single chat to save a life.

## Raising the bar for worker wellbeing with our charter

World Suicide Prevention Day is a powerful reminder.

But suicide doesn’t follow a calendar. Someone might need support any day, at any time.

That’s why our work doesn’t stop here.

Through the [Mindflow Mental Health Charter](https://mindflow.charity/join-the-charter) we set the standard with clear, industry-wide practices for mental health support throughout the construction industry. It is a practical, measurable framework for mental health provision on construction sites — with a particular focus on publicly funded projects. 

Right now, support for workers is inconsistent. Whether someone receives help often depends on the contractor. The Mindflow Charter sets a clear benchmark, giving local authorities and clients a way to embed mental health expectations from the start.

Construction workers are ten times more likely to die by suicide than in a site accident. That’s not just tragic. It’s unacceptable. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
