At the end of August 2025 Mindflow delivered its first Talk Football Talk Mental Health Match-Up session with Domis Construction at their Obsidian project in Manchester.

And what happened in those rooms is exactly why we exist.

Across four site-based sessions delivered, David White and Paul Lake, both former Manchester City players, shared raw and powerful stories — not about tactics or titles, but about pressure, silence, and what it means to reach breaking point. Their honesty made space for something construction doesn’t always allow: real talk about mental health.

These weren’t seminars. They were stories that stuck.

People leaned in, related, and started to open up. You could feel the stigma start to shift.

That’s the power of football. It creates connection. And in a male-dominated industry where suicide is still the leading cause of death, those connections can save lives.

We’re proud to be working with Domis Construction — a team clearly committed to making their sites safer, not just physically but mentally too. Thank you for all of your support!

What's coming next?

Mindflow is bringing Match-Ups to more sites across the UK — because we believe the most important safety tool isn’t a hard hat. It’s being able to say, “I’m not OK” — and be heard.
